The state of Mississippi understands the importance of responding to our labor market needs. Through that understanding, the 15 community colleges of the state have been appointed to provide valuable workforce training options to employers and individuals alike. The State of Mississippi has designated the Workforce Enhancement Training (WET) fund to be administered by the Mississippi Community College Board, and to be utilized by the community colleges to provide short-term training programs to teach employees the skills they need to be productive and successful.

We believe partnerships are important to the development our local workforce. King's Daughters Medical Center Chief Human Resources Officer Celine Craig takes a moment to share how her organization has benefited from the partnership with Copiah-Lincoln Community College Workforce Education.

Workforce Education provides three pathways of training:

Business and Industry

Employers who enter a partnership with Copiah-Lincoln Community College through a workforce project may receive custom job-training that meets a specific need. Inspect our list of training topics as well as more information for employers. Our staff trainers or part-time trainers are available for on-site or on-campus classes. In addition, there are some online options available.

Individual Career Training Programs

Non-credit workforce training classes are affordable tools available to business, industry, and the individual to improve themselves and the economic outlook of the state. These are our current career training programs. Classes may qualify for funding assistance from external sources.
