Program Information: 

A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) is a vital member of the healthcare team as he or she works alongside doctors and nurses to obtain laboratory specimens, assist with minor procedures, perform electrocardiograms, provide patient education, administer injections, and office administration functions. After successful completion of all requirements, students will test for the National Healthcareer Association CCMA National Board exam for licensure.

Class topics include medical terminology, basic pharmacology, nutrition, psychology, anatomy and physiology, clinical patient care, infection control, testing and laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, patient care coordination and education, administrative assistant skills, medical law and ethics. Students will be required to attend classroom theory, lab, and clinical rotations.

Entrance Requirements:

  • Minimum score of silver on the WorkKeys Assessment. Call 601.643.8707 for an assessment appointment.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
  • Physical and Drug Screen 
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Health Screening: influenza vaccine, copy of complete immunization records, Hep. B or signed declination form
  • Complete CCMA packet and return with required documentation. 
  • Cost: $1000.00 | Fee includes all books, fees, and cost for the national certification exam.
