Short-term training program hands-on learning and earn a Maritime Structural Fitter Level 1 credential.


This program is designed to teach students introductory craft skills such as reading blueprints, tape measuring (metric and standard), basic math, and working with tools (jacks, pry bars, hammers saws, welding equipment, and torches). Hands-on learning will focus on burning, cutting, washing, tack welding, metal arc welding and flux core. Upon successful completion, the student will receive their NCCER CONTREN Certification in Core and Maritime Structural Fitter Level 1. 

Class Information:

NATCHEZ CAMPUS - Starts May 8, 2018 and ends July 20, 2018. Meet Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Registration Deadline: April 25, 2018. For class registration or additional information, call 601.446.1166 or 601.643.8707.

Entrance Requirements:

1) Must pre-apply for the “Co-Lin Student Shipfitter HA” position (follow these steps):

3) Must be at least 18 years of age or older


Cost of program: $100.00

Students must purchase welding supplies required for class and steel toe boots. (A list will be provided.)
